Important Message About A New App

The EMUHSD has issued the following message about a mobile application (app) called “Ogle”. This “app”, which is readily available, claims to be designed for students to post messages, photographs and videos relating to their schools. Students and others are able to do this anonymously and without censorship.

Unfortunately, issues of cyber – bullying, harassment and profanity have arisen from its use in schools throughout the state. We urge our parents to carefully monitor their teen’s use of social media. We respectfully ask that you speak with your son or daughter about responsible use of social media, and if your child is using the Ogle app, we encourage you to have this app removed.

LACPL Homework Help

Harvey Mudd College Homework Help

In order to make sure that you do not get fined or charged for damaged textbooks, please follow the instructions below:

1. Make sure that there is a clear protector cover over the barcode that says El Monte High School on the back of your book. The covers are important because if the barcode falls off or is damaged beyond recognition, we will assume the book is stolen or tampered with and you will be charged the full replacement price! Also, if the barcode is damaged and needs to be replaced, you will be charged $5 to cover the cost of replacing the barcode. You can pick up a cover in the Student Store, Room 76, or the Library.

2. Please look through your books and throw away any papers or trash you find inside. You can remove the book card from the front or back pocket, but please do not rip out the pocket itself, as this may damage the book.

3. If you find any serious damage when going through the book that is not already noted, you should show us in the Student Store, Room 76, or Library at lunch, before school or after school. We will stamp it “damaged” or replace it, so that you will not be blamed for it. Otherwise, you might get fined or charged for the damage at the end of the year because we will have to assume that it was damaged while in your care.

Important Reminder about New Vaccination Requirement

This is a reminder for all students returning to El Monte High School in the Fall. Every student must have proof that they received the Tdap Booster shot before they enter school in August (grades 7-12). The school will not be able to accept students in August who do not have this booster shot!

Please make sure to get this shot, if you haven’t done so yet. There is an informational letter available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese on the district website: www.emuhsd.org under Parents & Students --> Parent Information tab).
